Encyclopedia of Water and Wastewater Engineering and Analysis was prepared to introduce the basic concepts of water and wastewater reuse, and applicaitons of environmentally sound technologies for enabling reuse. It aims to illustrate that sustainable water management is relevant for regions with abundant water resources as well as for those with limited water resources.

A compendium of five volumes namely Physical Properties of Water and Wastewater; Chemical Properties of Water and Wastewater; Biological Properties of Water and Wastewater; Water and Wastewater Treatment; Water and Wastewater Reuse, this publication details the technologies used in water and wastewater management today, including standard practice and state of the art. It describes the technological and regulatory changes that have occurred over years in this discipline, including improved techniques for the characterization of wastewaters; improved fundamental understanding of many of the existing unit operations and processes used for wastewater treatment; implementation of several newer treatment technologies; greater emphasis on advanced wastewater treatment and risk assessment for water reuse applications; changes in regulations and the development of new technologies for wastewater disinfection and new regulations governing the treatment, reuse, and disposal of sludge.

It is hoped that this work will be a highly useful reference tool for individuals in the field of sanitary technology and engineering as well as those interested in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
