Jerome (Jerry) J. Workman, Jr. is Executive Editor for LCGC and Spectroscopy; recently Certified Core Adjunct Professor of the School of Health and Human Services, National University, CA; and Principal at Biotechnology Business Associates. He is the co-host of the popular Analytically Speaking podcast and is co-author of the two popular Spectroscopy series: Statistics in Spectroscopy and Chemometrics in Spectroscopy. He has held a number of senior research and development positions with various technical organizations and is the recipient of the ASTM International Award of Merit, the Coblentz Society Williams-Wright Award, the Eastern Analytical Symposium Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (Vibrational Spectroscopy), the New York Society for Applied Spectroscopy Gold Medal, The Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Award, and others. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemists, the American Society for Testing and Materials International, and the Royal Society of Chemistry (U.K.). He is also a Chartered Chemist (CChem) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) of the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK. He holds over 25 US and international patents and has over 600 technical publications, along with 20 book volumes. His interests are in spectroscopy, chemometrics, data analytics, and in general analytical chemistry. Other special Specific topics of interest include imaging systems, process analysis, and device development using biosensors, fluorescence, and molecular spectroscopy. His long term research and development work has included near infrared, infrared, ultraviolet-visible, and Raman spectroscopy, and associated data analysis techniques.
