About the book 

This book deals with problems facing present day research in the increasingly topical field of molecular gas lasers.

Most molecular gas lasers use as their active medium low-temperature electric-discharge plasma. Therefore, an understanding of the physical processes on which molecular gas lasers depend for their operation requires, apart from studying purely laser aspects, also investigations into  a whole range of problems pertaining to plasma electronics. It must be noted that in many cases it is precisely the solution of problems directly related to plasma physics and technology that has paved the way to the most important developments in the field of molecular gas lasers. The material presented here is a review of some of the results of this work.
